Here is my Go-To list of considerations that you should take into account, before you make the choice with what - and by whom you will transform your business systems.

Ask yourself, as a business, these 3 questions:

1. What kind of company do we want to be?

Think about your company's core values, goals, and ambitions. What do you stand for? What are you striving for? Are you looking for growth, innovation, sustainability or are you customer focused? DNA Match or Clash.

2. What kind of company is the software provider?

Is the software provider a partner that sells software licences or do they develop their own software? Do they offer off-the-shelf packages or do they provide bespoke solutions? Do they specifically focus on one or a limited number of industries, or are they offering their services to a wide range of different industries? Specialist vs Generalist.

3. What is the ideal outcome and what result do you envision?

Determining your own business vision - and adding that to the aspects for consideration - will help you make an adequate choice. It is important to align the technology choices with your vision. The right choice will, after all, provide a solid foundation and contribute to the realisation of your long-term vision and goals, and thereby contribute to the successful transformation of your company.
